Big Oil companies knew decades ago that their products would fuel climate change. Instead of doing what they could to avert potentially “catastrophic” damages, they misled the public through a decades-long campaign of doubt, denial, and disinformation designed to undermine the science, delay climate action, and block solutions.

Now, communities are paying billions to adapt to and recover from the damages caused by Big Oil’s deception.

Climate accountability is grounded in a simple notion: if you knowingly sell a harmful product and lied about it, you should be held accountable and pay for the damage you caused.
